Hydrogen peroxide

Put into a dark colored spray bottle (light breaks it down) and use it to disinfect cutting boards, toilets, whatever..  Or, you can just put a spray top onto the peroxide bottle.

Good for grout, showers, tubs, ovens, stoves, sinks...

 

Basic Cleaner

1 part vinegar

2 parts water

Put in spray bottle, shake.  I use this for almost everything...glass tables, counters, microwave, sinks, etc. (You can do 1 part water to 1 part vinegar for more strength)

HOMEMADE LIQUID LAUNDRY DETERGENT

4 cups hot water
1 Ivory, Sunlight bar soap OR Fels-Naptha Laundry Bar
1 cup washing soda

½ cup Borax

Grate bar of soap and add to saucepan of hot water. Stir constantly over medium-low heat until soap is all melted.

Fill a large kitty litter bucket or 5-gallon pail ½ full of hot water. Add melted soap, washing soda and borax. Stir well until the powder is dissolved. Fill bucket with more hot water.
Stir, cover and let sit overnight.

The next morning the pail will be all gelled and very thick. Stir with a stick to break it up. (Or just use you fingers) Fill a laundry jug half-full of the detergent, and top with more water. (Or leave it concentrated and just use 1/8-1/4 cup)
Shake Well before each use. (It's good to leave it very concentrated....less bottles around)

Use ½ cup for top-load machines, and ¼ for front-load.

Use the thickened, undiluted soap as a pre-treater.

Homemade Laundry Detergent

Did you know you can make your own laundry detergent?  It's simple, inexpensive, and it works great!  And yes, you do have time. It's only three ingredients and it lasts for months as it only takes 2 T per load!

• 1 bar of shaved bar soap, any kind (Ivory, ZOTE, Fels-Naptha)
• 1 box of borax (76oz)
• 1 box of washing soda (55 oz)

{You can use a  food processor to break up the soap, 

 in the link above, she uses a micro-plane to grate it, which would make it more fine}
