Have you tried shopping online? E-bay and Amazon are a must for me when I'm looking to purchase something. It's easy in a small town, when you're miles from a Wal-Mart, but when it's close by, you don't think of looking online.
For example. Joe wanted a Leatherman for Father's Day. We had recently bought one for someone else as a gift at the store (last minute) and it was $25. I got the exact same one, including shipping, for less than $20! You can usually find things on Amazon for free shipping, or wait and buy several things so you qualify for free shipping on purchases over $25.
So shop around a little online. You don't have to worry about wasting gas driving around from store to store. It's easy to Google your item and pull up 5 or so sites and compare prices . But remember to take into account shipping prices!
